Privacy notice
Short version: no account, no names, no email. The reader records anonymous, aggregate usage so it can be made better.
What is collected
When you use the reader we record anonymous usage analytics — which provisions are read, and which features (search, highlighting, defined-term and citation pop-ups, flags) are used. This is tied to a random, anonymous identifier stored on your device, not to your identity. We do not ask for, and do not store, your name, email, or account of any kind.
Analytics are sent first-party through this site (the /relay path) to our analytics provider, PostHog. Basic, non-identifying request information (page, referrer, approximate country from your network) is also recorded server-side so that visits still count even with JavaScript disabled or an ad-blocker enabled.
Your highlights and notes stay on your device
Any text you highlight, the private notes you attach, and the provisions you flag are saved only in your browser’s local storage. They are never uploaded. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Session recording
If session replay is enabled, anything you type — including your private notes — is masked before it ever leaves your browser. We use replay to understand navigation and layout problems, not to read your content.
Cookies
A single anonymous identifier cookie is used to de-duplicate visits. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking.
Opt out
You can turn analytics off for this device at any time:
The site also honors your browser’s “Do Not Track” / Global Privacy Control signal where supported. California residents may request that we not “sell” or “share” personal information — we do neither.
